HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Just a quick one to say Happy Christmas to all my friends, fellow carvers, green woodworkers, bushcrafters and any one else who might stumble across my blog.

My wife took this photo of my carving in the sitting room last night - she said it was for the purpose of putting something a little festive on my blog but I suspect her divorce solicitor has advised her to collect evidence.

Either way - HAPPY CHRISTMAS - I'd be interested to hear what new knives and axes you find in your stockings!

  1. Hi,
I am happy to day I just bought an adze from North Bay. Is a small elbow adze. Is lovely. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. (Need to find some wood). It was murder deciding which adze to buy. I was leaning towards the ever so coveted Hans Karlson. But I thought a smaller tool might be better suited for me. I want to first make kuskas and smaller bowls. And if I can get my aim goods enough I can maybe use it for larger ladles and such. The price was much better too! He has some great deals if you are willing to handle your own. I Abought one all ready to go. Kressler also has some very nice elbow adze. Can't wait to use it. :)

    1. You are very lucky to get such a lovely Christmas gift. Let me know when you've made your first bowl - I'd love to see your efforts.

  2. Hahaha. I sound like a hillbilly. Sorry for all the typos. I'm typing on my phone and I can't really see what I'm writing. I hit preview and it published.
